[tex] \frac{11}{4} [/tex] this is because when you add [tex] \frac{7}{8} [/tex] and [tex] \frac{1}{2} [/tex] you get [tex] \frac{11}{8} [/tex] which you'd then divide like this
[tex]( \frac{11}{1} ) ( \frac{2}{8})
=( \frac{11}{1} ) ( \frac{1}{4})
= \frac{11}{4} [/tex]
If you wanted to simplify that it would be [tex]2 \frac{3}{4} [/tex]
